This week, I'm...
  • Reading: “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle. Simply amazing. I feel like she’s lit a fire in my soul. Do yourself a favor and read this if you haven’t.
  • Watching: allllll the Hallmark movies. I know, I know but I just can’t help myself. I need to know whether the town cupcake baker is going to fall in love with the cranky mayor who wants to cancel the holiday parade. Anyone want to bet on the outcome?
  • Learning: to appreciate new, simpler traditions that will infuse our holidays with love and joy. My 2020 Rock Star Holiday Plans include: a (virtual) showing of Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker, a DIY hot chocolate bar, and a handful of new-to-us Christmas cookie recipes. Got more ideas? Share in the comments!
  • Trying: to cut down on unnecessary distractions from my phone. I’ve deleted a handful of apps that were sending me constant notifications, because I realized that I simply don’t have the willpower to ignore them. Am I more productive? Not yet – but I will be once the Hallmark holiday movies are off the air!
  • Loving: Christmas music! My kids don’t dare put on the regular radio station in the car, and I’m pretty sure Alexa rolled her eyes at me, but I don’t care. Because guess what? “Feliz navidad, la-la-la-laaaa-la… feliz navidad, la-la-la-laaaa-la…”
